Head Football Coach

Vernon Stewart

Coach Stewart is a native of Farrell, Pennsylvania. A 1982 graduate of Farrell High School, Mr. Stewart excelled in football, basketball, and track and field. An All-State selection in football as a junior, he was an All-State Honorable Mention and First-Team All-WPIAL selection as a senior. He helped lead his team to victory in the 1982 Pennsylvania-Ohio All-Star Game. Named as one of the country's top one hundred quarterback recruits by "Blue Chip" magazine, Mr. Stewart set a single-season record for total offense. He continued his academic and athletic endeavors at the University of Akron, where he led the football team to the NCAA division playoff game in 1985. To his credit he set university records in track and field. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, Mr. Stewart served his country with honor and distinction with 21 years of active-duty service. His tours include Operation Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. An entrepreneur and published author, his book of poetry, "A View Through My Eyes," was released in December of 2010.
